Our Story
Padel was played for the first time in South Africa in 2019 and by October 2020 the South African Padel Association (SAPA) was established with great excitement and enthusiasm. In January 2021 SAPA was included as an associate member of Tennis South Africa (TSA), and thus through this affiliation to the country’s highest sports governing body, SASCOC.
The South African Padel Association is the national governing body for the sport of padel in South Africa. Already recognised by the African Padel Confederation (CAP) and in process of full accreditation by the International Padel Federation (FIP), it is beginning to establish itself as a prominent player the global Padel landscape.

Our Mission
At The South African Padel Association (SAPA), we are dedicated to promoting and developing the sport of padel across the nation.
a) Promote awareness of padel in South Africa
b) To grow the padel community in South Africa through outreach and development programs, tournaments, and events. Creating opportunities for both the growth of the sport and the athletes in it.
c) Form a national network for padel that will create excellence in the sport from grassroots level and allow for national events, tournaments, ranking systems and a competitive national team.
d) To provide resources, network, knowledge and support for clubs, players, coaches and professionals to improve their skills, knowledge and delivery within the sport, but most importantly to enjoy the game to the fullest.
e) To represent South Africa on the international stage, fostering connections with other padel associations worldwide.
f) Build a sustainable revenue model for padel to succeed
